The French Minister of Overseas territories announced the reopening of Tahiti and Her Islands to French tourists
We are waiting for more information but here is what we know at this stage regarding the entry formalities applicable to travelers from France and Europe as of June 9th 2021:
- Only tourists who have carried out a complete vaccination at least two weeks (14 days) before their departure will be exempt from quarantine (upon justification of their full vaccination and if the various COVID-19 tests requested are negative).
- Access and protocol reserved for travelers immunized by recent previous Covid (less than 6 months) will be determined very soon.
- Other travelers will still need to justify of a compelling reason for travel and will be required to quarantine for 10 days.
- At this stage, children between 6 and 16 years old are still subject to a 10-day quarantine in Tahiti accompanied by at least one adult. We hope that the age for vaccination of children in Europe will be lowered to 12 years old as it is already the case in the United States.
- Considering this extended reopening, the country aims to fluidify the entry formalities. In the meantime, entry protocols, which will be confirmed in the next few days, should be similar to the ones in place for tourists arriving from the United Stated (attached).
