Pension Taitaa
Pension Taitaa is set in a large garden just 800 meters from the lagoon and the island’s main village, Mataura. Stores, restaurants and a bank are nearby. Pension TAITAA is named after the island’s highest peak at 422 meters. The pension’s owner, Nariiorono, welcomes you to his native island with his wife Nathalie. They are very proud of their island, and Nariiorono will be delighted to share his talents and experiences as a dancer and woodcarver.
Our experience
The location, the welcome, the meals, the excursions, the general atmosphere. It's an ideal place to discover Tubuai, with hosts (Narii and Nathalie) who are really there for us. (Hinatea - Travel consultant).

Individual rooms offering spacious, comfortable living space. Tastefully decorated interiors. Each unit has its own private bathroom with hot water. Rooms are equipped with a fan and mosquito net.

Guest table
Meals are served on a large communal table and are a tasty blend of local and European cuisine. Nathalie, in charge of the kitchen, gives priority to local produce, with fruits and vegetables from Tubuai.
Continental breakfast: tea/coffee/hot chocolate, fresh fruit juice, homemade jam, butter, bread, homemade brioches or firi-firi (traditional fritters), homemade yogurt, fresh fruit.
Dinner (set menu) : 1 starter + 1 main course + 1 dessert (mainly fish).

The guesthouse organizes activities for its guests (booking and payment directly on site) -Bicycle rental -Tour of the island with discovery of the marae (ancient Polynesian temples), visit to local craftsmen - Hiking -Day trip to a motu (islet) with picnic.
